I'm not sure why anyone would advertise a vehicle by using dancing rats with baggy clothing. It sure doesn't make me want to rush out and buy a rat car.

If you saw the kids down here in Miami that drive those Souls you would know why..Kia seems to be on the right track with those commercials.

I absolutely DETEST those ads. They are worse than the Castrol think with your dipstick ads. Absolutely ASANINE! What the heck do ghetto hampsters have to do with selling a vehicle? Not only would I not by that model vehicle but I wouldn't buy ANY car from that mfg. STUPID ADS!

They are meant to appeal to the brainwashed suburbanite white kids that think they are "ghetto" "yo!".

Oh, and of course talking like you got your education from a crack house and dressing like your wardrobe is the dumpster behind the Salvation Army.

Didn't you know that's the "in thing" ?

Im sorry, Im really not a fan of advertising or advocating that sloppy ghetto culture.

The original one had a hint of smarts to it because the hamsters driving in toasters and washing machines was great parody of brainwashed people mindlessly driving toyotas and hondas.

But this is just annoying. And that kind of lifestyle/culture is nothing to be celebrated. It does nothing good for our country and population.

I think Kia is trying to compete with Scion for the most hood/ghetto car. However they have a way to go to get the ugliest cars award, Scion has had that locked down for years.

You mean the illiterate "thug" kids that couldn't possibly hold down a job if their life depended on it doing crime, time and wheels and deals for drugs and your personal property?

That isn't helping the state of our fine country(s)?

But they are "keepin' it real... yo!"

That strikes me as a race to the bottom........

I disagree on Scion having the ugliest cars. The Nissan Cube is the ugliest thing I can think of at the moment.

As for the Soul commercial, this commercial was a bit odd, but then again most car commercials have nothing to do with the actual car being advertised. In general, commercials seem to have less to do with the product being advertised on a daily basis, to the point of sometimes being difficult to figure out what is being advertised.

A general comment on the current Kia lineup in terms of style, the Rio and Sedona are very bland, but one is a cheap compact and the other is a minivan... nobody buys these cars for style. These cars are purchased for value and/or practicality. As stated before, the Soul certainly isn't the ugliest car in its class (if anything, it is probably one of the better lucking compact boxes).

I love the hamster commercials, and the Soul is a really nice package for the money! They updated the powertrain this year and made a lot of nice improvements. I think it's a great car for the money.
