A great comparison. I wonder what would happen to 308 at 80k psi?

Depending on the bullet and barrel length it would approach 300 win mag velocity.
But it would also have 300 win mag barrel life or worse.

Sounds like a great cartridge. I would be curious to know if the barrel throat is hardened to withstand this bullet. I know that barrels for the US 50 BMG have a hardened insert for the first part of the bullet's travel.
