Tesla to recall 1.1M vehicles

Just heard it on the radio, 1.1M vehicles have faulty window reversal software and can trap & pinch fingers. Yeah, I know it’s a “petty” recall, but this can’t be cheap…

I’m surprised the software can’t be updated over the air…

Edit: it appears that it CAN be updated over the air.

This is new territory. 1.1 million cars recalled and fixed without the owner having to bring it in. It just “happens”.

This is the result of unified vs. distributed control.
Tesla is still way ahead of everyone here.

Tesla’s giant ‘safety recall’ of 1 million vehicles is just another software update

There are no warranty claims or injuries due to the problem as of Sept. 16, according to the NHTSA documents.
No pinched fingers, which is good.
The OTA update has already started to push... And here I thought it was the end of the world...

Indeed.

Teslas increasing prices and wait times offer buyers and opportunity to purchase a vehicle, put moderate miles on it, then resell it for more than or close to what they bought it for.
