Analysts expected Tesla to deliver around 450,000 units for Q1 but according to an article posted today from inside evs Tesla has only posted deliveries in the 377,000 range.
Tesla ev deliveries missed the mark
I'm curious how many vehicles Tesla actually manufactured as they seem to have difficulty gauging sales numbers vs vehicles manufactured.

They will recover; the public's memory is short.
We shall see. When I worked for a retirement home back in the mid 90's to early 00's there were quite a number of residents who were in the 70-90ish range that refused to own Japanese or German vehicles. Many were old enough to be involved in WW2 in some capacity. Only the "younger " residents I noticed had German or Japanese vehicles.

I think you are right, but when you alienate your biggest market segment, you are neglecting your fiduciary duty.
CA is the biggest car market in the US and certainly for EVs. Tesla has a black eye right now, when it should be killing it with their new (and incredible) products. I can buy a M3P for 0% financing right now. That's free money.

How did TSLA alienate the highest declining economy in the world , please explain?

Easy overpromising on more or less everything. I'm sick of people saying Musk is "overly optimistic ". I'm fairly certain that if you put engineers on the stand they knew and know that Tesla isn't "close to autonomous " driving. The Cybertruck just had its eighth recall in 14 months for gluing parts to the body which now are falling off due to Teslas report temperature differences. Musk has claimed autonomous driving is "right around the corner " for 12 years. That isn't optimism it's fraud. The cybercab supposedly will be here in 2026..... Ok right the Cybertruck was seven years late and can't tow, haul nor has any of the range promised. Hopefully people are waking up. Ev sales grew 1.5-2% yoy in California, Tesla sales are down 13% yoy in California.

Musk has taken this company as far as he can, they have an established clientele and have made a profit. It's time for the board to terminate his employment. He's just alienating potential customers now. $0.02.
If Musk continues down the road he is on, I agree he needs to let Tesla, and the other companies, go.
But if he gets back to what built those companies, he is an outstanding leader.

I basically disagree with Tesla having an established clientele; in business you grow or you go. There is much more to do, but Musk has to refocus on his choices. Heck, look at the Cybertruck; what if he had built an F-150/Rivian pickup? It matters not that the CT is an engineering marvel, what matters is what the market will buy.

Musk chose to play on another stage.

True, but they also quit taking orders on the older Model Y and ran out of inventory in most markets. The new Model Y is slowly delivering. That alone would slow deliveries. I don't know if new buyers happy with the direction of said things are enough to offset overall the buyers Tesla is losing, but we will see.

Nailed it. He should have just been honest. It's catalyzed a group of people I can't seem to talk sense into on FSD. I've used it a bunch. It's the reason I feel so negatively about it.

This 100%. He's distracted. His head isn't in running a car company.

You can only spread yourself so thin before you're not really involved or have no clue as to what's going on at a company. I've read that employees at Tesla said that musk only showed up around six times at Tesla last year. If so showing up every other month doesn't give you much clue as to what and where changes should happen. My dad keeps telling me to apply but from my six applications especially for customer service roles which I have alot of experience you either need to know someone or know how to bs the application to get in.

Musk needs to get back to listening to people that know what they're talking about. Initially a Ford Maverick sized truck was on the table, but it wasn't "Futuristic enough " for musk so Cybertruck it is. Sometimes risks are good, look at the McLaren F1. The engineering on it is crazy and has a purpose from the gold lined engine bay, to a dial up modem for diagnostics, 230 mph top speed. They're now 20 plus million dollar cars. Jay Leno picked his up for 600k back in the day.

In 2017 when he flat out said on national television that by November or definitely December the model s would be able to drive from New York to LA without any driver input. I wanted to bet musk a billion on the spot it wouldn't happen as I knew it wouldn't and couldn't happen.

I didn't believe it then either. I drove my first Model S in 2014 and I wasn't convinced at the time that it would work for me, but I thought it was cool. I was driving a Jaguar XJ VDP at the time. I really don't like the overpromising "dream" sales pitches, especially as they throw away technology for camera only. I do think if they had lidar they may actually be able to pull it off. They set themselves back massively going camera only.
