Tell me more about Transtune

Not a lot of info on this board, wouldn't be for my car.

Friend has a beat 240sx RWD wants to know if he can use it in a manual transmission to clean it up.

I've recommended the ARX route and he hasnt written it off yet, but he is more interested in getting immediate results.

Maybe I can get him to do both on this beater.

Thoughts?

I'm not familiar about the product myself. Just tell your friend that sometimes immediate results can do more harm than good depending on what is wrong with the transmission and want kind of results he is looking to achieve.

Is he talking about the Sea Foam stuff? It's just naphthenic oil and solvent. No guarantee of immediate results with it either. I've used ARX in my manual transmission so I would recommend it for him.

Clean up a manual transmission simply by changing the gear oil. Nothing else is needed unless the vehicle went swimming.
