The diamond plate bed says to me that the original rotted way the heck out, and he rebuilt it with diamond plate he somehow had laying around.

Exactly. The diamond plate bed and tool box is a negative not a positive. A few pics would be nice.

They used Yellow Pine planks for the bed floor & was a marvel to get 15-20 years out of it, A nice Oak replacement kit runs @ $1200 & then requires fitting.

Both myself and the seller have been too busy to work out the finer points of this but he's confirmed that it is a 350ci engine of that era, and will get me the details on it after Christmas.

He's assured me it's a rust free truck, including the frame and underbody.

More details and some pictures to follow but so far so good.
