Around 1230 today there was a loud boom, right up there with nearby lightning strikes. Went outside, neighbor was on the phone with the PD about it (her windows rattled and her dogs were Not Happy), but I figured it was people target shooting in the nearby quarry. Went back inside, was in the garage a bit later when a second boomer rattled the windows in my garage. Finished what I was doing, when I got outside the PD was by, and they verified that it was indeed tannerite and target shooting.
Best I can figure, I'm 200' to my neighbor and it's about 1,200 feet to the quarry. Ish as I'm going by google maps to guess where they might be. Not sure what it takes to rattle my windows through 1,500 feet of trees or whatever, but it seems they had a fair amount in the big boomers.
Must have been fun! they were out there blazing about for a few hours.
