I'm still liking Google Fi. I've got the Pixel 7a via the phone credits thing. It's not a bad deal. I pay $70/month for 2 lines with 50gb/month/line. Don't come close to consuming that.

It appears you are correct. That is fairly new. Last I looked into them 1-2 years ago, they didn't. So the main things USM has over them nowadays is CS, better pricing, and multi-network autoswitch.

If you’re in a metropolitan area and don’t do a lot of rural commutes all 3 carriers are equal and unless getting a deal on a new device(s) and going to be savings per month I wouldn’t bother switching just for the cause. I just recently started traveling throughout horry county and parts of nc for work my company phone is vz and the rural network/coverage is better than my personal line on tmo
Interesting, I have the top plan on GoogleFi and I like it a lot. I use it for a work hotspot if my home network goes down, so I need to be able to use all my data as hotspot data and Google delivers on that. I got 192Mb down when Optimum recently went down for the whole neighborhood and the next neighborhood over and I was using my hotspot for work. (It seems they just keep trenching up fiber along SH29 but it is what it is, a lot of new construction)
They just upped the data limit from 50GB/line to 100GB/line and while I did go slightly over my limit on spring break while I left my phone on hotspot for the kids all the way to South Padre and back, that should not happen again with the new higher limit. It's relatively expensive, I pay over $140ish/mo for a 3 line plan, but, as you noted it works awesome for international and that along with the data was the point for us.
You can also call something like 180 countries including Brazil for free which is a big deal for my Mother-in-law (who's phone service I pay for) and my wife as both of them emigrated (legally) to the US within the past 15 years from Brazil and they have a large extended family back home (I met my wife when she had already lived here in the US for 3 years).
That said, I have a Pixel that I bought from them and it has the network switching, whereas my wife's iPhone does not as GoogleFi doesn't support network switching on the iPhones. But I seem to have signal pretty much everywhere and my MIL and wife don't complain about theirs, so, that's good enough for me.
This is correct both US Mobile and RedPocket offer all 3 networks.
Pick the company whose price and plan works best for the user.

Great choices, either one. I think USMobile has the edge right now offering a higher level of high speed data. Meaning top priority in crowded network congestion. Even higher than the networks own budget plans. Honesty though most people may not notice but … ?
Haha I did the Unlimited Plus to get a phone discount, but we really wanted premium data in the first place so it wasn't a stretch. I would go even higher if they had a higher tier. I want my data prioritized above the basic plans. I've had work cell phones for years that were on AT&T First Net public responder network, now I don't have a work cell and so I have to have my data at top tier for work. But it's fine, they're making it worth my while.
I've been with RedPocket for several years now, and their service has generally been fine.
They were sending out a lot of emails the last few months, showing their pretty nice Apple phone discounts. I wanted to get one, but they slammed on the brakes, and said it's only for "new customers". I was less than thrilled about this, particularly when they were sending emails several times each week to ME, an existing customer. Anyway, when my plan winds down in July, I may jump ship, to a new carrier that has a good phone deal. My S21 battery is getting quite weak, so time to upgrade...
Yeah, can be frustrating trying to get a phone on a already discounted plan.
Boost Mobile now the 4th major carrier sometimes has deals. but .. whether or not their service is up to the other big 3 I dont know.
Being on US Mobile I just upgraded my iPhone 13 to a iPhone 15plus. But purchased it on my own from Apple, Apple gave me $250 credit for the older phone.
I did have Chase Bank pay for the rest of it though.
Special deal that I opened a checking and savings account with them, 90 days later got $900. Once the 90 days expires I close the account. We do this once or twice a year with bank specials. $900 was the highest ever, Typically $350 for a checking account is all we do.
I've had 4 lines with Verizon since the fall of the Roman Empire. We tried T-Mobile long ago and, at that time, the coverage didnt work for us. Wife insists on V and no other. Happy wife, happy life, and this is a hill I'm not willing to die on.
They have been raising the prices on our 4 unlimited plans the last few years, my state of the art Galaxy S10 (lol) was starting to have battery issues, and I wanted to break away from %#$@&* Cox and try Verizon's 5G internet.
I qualify for their military discount and get the auto pay discount.
On my personal line I went from a $52.50/month to $30 (both plus about $5 in tax and fees). I also got a new Galaxy S25+ for an activation fee and tax. Not sure how they make that work as the phone itself would cost close to $30/month over the 3 year commitment.
Next week I fire Cox once the streaming services are in place. TV, internet and phones for the family is going from $500/month to $200/month with the higher package internet, about 6 streaming services, and new real state of the art phones for all. And they throw in $400 credit on an $800 Samsung purchase at Best Buy and some smart Ray Ban sunglases.
If you don't hear from me again, I died on the Cox hill.

With US Mobile you can chose AT&T, Verizon or TMobile at great rates. Not only that but they will let you switch networks to another one if you want.
Unless you are looking to TMobile for a free phone that isnt free, the goes for all the majors though.

Me and the Mrs are going to check spectrum mobile see about spectrum paying off the devices
We've had TMobile since they took over Sprint, and had Sprint a long time before that. We've been everywhere and no big complaints. I will say their text messages seems to be delayed. My coworker has ATT and if someone sends us a text he always gets it a few minutes before I do. Getting tired of TMobiles constant price increases though. Once we get the new place setup going to transition our phones off to a prepaid maybe.

wise choice I tried a few years ago telling the wife lets stay on prepaid svc. wanted to at the time take advantage of the free Netflix/Hulu and phone upgrade via bill credits. she at the time took a iPhone 13 for herself and my mother I rode the heck out of my iPhone xr just up until 2 months ago I upgraded now her and my mother are on 15 and 15 pro I just got a 16. but back to the wise choice to go with prepaid cricket wireless is an excellent alternative to ATT(same network) and VZ prepaid also not bad. I am curious to see what spectrum mobile has to offer us for paying off the devices I sort of have an idea its going to be shooting down a rabbit hole they'll probably want us to take their home tv/internet package etc.
I know I have posted this before but if you want a plan at amazing prices AND be able to chose from ATT, TMobile or Verizon networks, also some come with priority data that those companies dont even offer on their own prepaid plans. You also have options for EVERYTHING at low costs.
You also have the ability to go into your account and switch networks hassle free with a click of your mouse! Stupid simple stuff. Nope you are not going to get a free phone because the so called "free" phone that isnt free isnt built into the cell service price.
I cant take credit for this, I was a big proponent of Red Pocket which does offer much the same. But someone in here recommended http://usmobile.com to me about a year ago and it edges out Red Pocket in most cases. You cant beat US MOBILE.

Yeah they hosed my parents on their contracted price. Their promises don't mean squat. My parents signed up five years ago and were told their bill was locked in for two lines at $40/month as long as they paid on time. A year ago they were given a notice that T Mobile was changing their plan. My dad brought it up and the representative told them that wasn't a real plan and that the price would go up. They dumped T Mobile.
As my wife and dumped them too.
I only had a major cell company 2 years in the last 15 or so. NEVER ever had issues with a MVNO
However a couple years back T-Mobile offered my wife and I two new iPhone 13's (in return for our old phones) and their 55+ Magenta plan with Netflix.
Even though our RedPocket plan was still less expensive, the numbers worked in TMobile favor. The total cost for 2 years with TMobile was about $350 more HOWEVER that included two new iPhones 13s.
What happened during this time was we were forced to give them our debit card instead of the credit card that they were charging the monthly payment to or we would have lost our $5 a month discount. Some nerve to change terms during our two year period!
THEN at the two year mark, TMobile who used to say they were the "uncarrier" for the first time in like 15 years decided to end grandfathering in the price. SO they gave a price increase.
Anyway that was goodbye to TMobile and over to US Mobile.
