He may know full well what rotating tires is and was just fishing for a laugh. I did that one time when I was 18 or 19 at a family reunion. A bunch of my aunts and uncles (some I didn't know from Adam) were discussing mixed drink. One of my aunts said something about a Pina Colada, and with a perfectly straight face I said "Isn't that what they do to little boys in the hospital right after they're born?" Brought the house down.
