Ok, you guys have talked me into swithcing my truck to a synthetic , so I figure I might as well change the wifes 2004 Neon over too. My question is, at 91,000 miles of dino only, should I stick with dino or is it ok to switch to a synthetic at this mileage?

Should be just fine. Many High Mileage synthetic oil's, even help stop or prevent leaks from occuring....As long as the seal itself, is not damaged.
Will be just fine. I switched my cavalier with 128,000 miles over to full synthetic and it had seen Dino for the first 125, getting Maxlife blend for 3,000 before going to PP. Runs just perfect.

Ive done multiple cars at 160-200k miles without issues. Even if you see a bit of consumption at first, it will go away.
No problem especially with a Group III synthetic. A PAO based synthetic may leak more on a vehicle that has crude build up around the seals keeping the conventional oil from leaking.
Yes you may see consumption issues. This occured to me as well when I switched over. After 1-2 oil changes it stopped...At first you may want check the oil levels on a weekly basis, and top off if necessary
You can switch dino syn any time and all the time if you want. My 1994 Lexus LS400 with more than 240k miles had dino then syn then dino ... without any problem, oil consumption was/is 1/2 quarts every 4-5k miles with both conventional and synthetic. I adjusted OCI's accordingly, 6-7k/6mo with dino and 12-14k/12mo with syn. The engine is as smooth now as it was new.
The reason it had different oils was I bought whatever was on sale for dirt cheap, such as Chevron for $0.49/qt after rebate, PP or Synpower for $0.99/qt after rebate.

My in-laws gave us my volvo with around 180,000 miles. The car had been ran on Castrol gtx 10w30 since new. It was a little low when I first received it, so I added a quart or quart and a half of Royal Purple 15w40. The car started leaking within a couple days. It was leaving pools on the floor. I don't know if I drove it harder than they did or that little bit of PAO based oil caused it to leak. Then I switched to Castrol gtx high mileage. I was shocked that the leak stopped as soon as it started. I have used Lucas Synthetic 5w40 for one change, and now I've used Redline 10w30 (going to be 5w30) POE based without a single drop of a leak after running the High Mileage oil.
Again, right before they gave us the car, it was their back up car and wasn't driven a lot. Just me driving it may have started the leak. The leak may have stopped on its own. They informed me the car had never leaked. I have read that Esters are added to High Mileage oils to help with seals. I don't know if the esters in POE based synthetics are at all related but they seem to be working for me.

I forgot to add that the Volvo doesn't use any oil now, and I run it on 10,000 mile changes.
