Sweet vintage Chevy truck but is it worth $45k?

I don't have FB account but that's at least 10K too high even in the N.E market where rust free is almost non-existant.
And things are cooling off a bit. And they may not look as good but a mid-ninties drives better - just drop in drivetrain of choice. LS motors are everywhere and cheap if that is your thing. I would just prefer a mild 350 and a 5 speed. I like a big low-end torque hit in a truck - not all the power above 4 grand.
IMO more than $10k overpriced.

Not a bad truck, but not a 45k truck. The market is hot on square bodies now and the older model generation in the ad coming in less valueable then the square body values. My son has a nice driver 1985 C10 but also his is not a 45k truck as nice as it is. I would think that truck is worth around 25-28k.

The seller is likely trying to get the money he put into it. (I would not on a NOT RARE vehicle like that) Just because it cost him mega + does not make it worth that much to anyone else. Or..... maybe a guy with a bank account so big some of the money is burning in his pockets. Classic auto restorers rarely get what they put into a complete restoration UNLESS the car is one of the rare ones like the GTOs / 70s era hemi Mopars / Super Duty Pontiacs or the limited runs of Hurst Olds and 442s.... Maybe the Ford Talledagas or Mercury Eliminators...

While asking might seem a little high, it would not surprise me to learn that when you add up the actual expenses involved in building this thing you'd come pretty close to 45K or maybe more.
You'd have to start with a good, straight, so premium priced original and spend from there.
Used to be that trucks were the poor man's special interest vehicle. Apparently not so much these days.
I agree but you never get back what you've put into a vehicle. This particular pickup might fetch $45k Cdn.

I am always cruising the classic cars for sale all across the internet .... almost daily / well , at least weekly and I have noticed that web site, carsforsale.com has some of the highest priced cars I have seen of all the sites. They are even more expensive than some of the most well known , long established classic car/truck selling sites. I would guess with the way they list and at the prices asked, that they DO NOT move many units or often. I have seen some sitting there for over 12 months so apparently those sellers and the owners of the site are in no hurry and not in need of fast cash. Yet as we all know. Of course there is a vehicle and price out there for everyone of us , somwhere.

I saw this sweet truck for sale, but it feels like the asking price might be just a touch high?

Post #17 Read:
My co-worker at our vintage repair garage just put up the show-off squarebody** truck that is mint inside and out with killer paint.
It's a breathed on 400sbc with long tubes and full out-the-back exhaust, THM 400, and we just put a fresh ford 9 in it with somewhat steeper gears last spring. I don't recall the ad price but I think he will take around 30k.
Legendary in Rowley, Ma is marketing it. just looked - they dont have the photos up yet.

** Truck was just posted - check it out. 1972 Chevy C10 "glamor body".

Thought it was a THM400. Never did a drain and fill on it but I am surprised.

On the interior I prefer Naugahyde upholstery vs mouse fur, but my compatriot likes the fuzz.
