Must admit to a guilty pleasure years ago when driving home from University was stopping at McDonalds, and grabbing a quarter pounder and fries...and a condiment.

They had a sweet curry dipping sauce for the nuggets, and I'd get one of those to dip the fries in.

They've long since dropped the sweet curry dipping sauce, but it was a tangy, sweet (of course), and curry.

Have bought a few bottled curry/chilli sauces, and although I like heat, I'm after the flavour...Summer virtually here, it would be a good addition to boiled eggs, corned beef sandwiches.

Any body got a family recipe out there for something that might fit the bill ?

Zesty Mango? Was my favourite sauce but had to ask everytime and didn't know what I was talking about. Loved them with nuggets.

Buy a premixed curry powder from your neighborhood grocer.
Curry powder - 1/4 cup
Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
Sugar - 3 tablespoons
Coconut milk - 1/4 can

Med Heat oil in sauce pan with powder to release aromatics.
Add sugar until it begins to caramelize.
Add coconut milk ans stir.

To thicken, add a little flour or other thickening agent.

BTW: this can be a dipping sauce or you can now add shrimp, chicken or beef and make a curry stew out of it.

Enjoy.
