I know one is synthetic and one is not how do these 2 compare. And also how does super tech compare to Mobil 1

Mobil 1 beats Supertech Synthetic hands down.

As for Supertech Synthetic vs. Mobil 5000 - both are very good oils, you cannot go wrong with either. Mobil 5000 is in spec for majority of domestic engines, while Supertech gets good VOA.

I personally would go for the synthetic over Mobil 5000 given the price points for either oil.

Just changed oil in my Explorer to Super Tech Full synthetic. Its purring & running like a champ so far 150 miles into change. Would never know the difference by butt dyno or sound from previous Pennzoil Platinum that I exchanged!! Price point to me---Super Tech Full synthetic all the way!!

Given that there has been UOAs of MS5K with 7k + on them, and they've been fine, I'd spend the 13.50 on it.

Didn't Blueovalfitter go 10k on one of his?

I'd say the TBN retention and other extended OCI abilities of both SuperTech synthetic and Mobil 5k are pretty similar. ST does have a slightly better NOACK than most conventional oils, but worse than pretty much any other 'synthetic' oil. Definitely not in the league with M1.

I think people find it's a steal because it's a "synthetic" and it's pretty low priced. But if you look at it's analysis it's price about where it should be... the cheapest synthetic because it should be. Really from a value proposition anyone using it should probably be using a conventional. It doesn't have the low noack or long OCI benefits of pretty much any other synthetic, so what's the point? Paying an extra five bucks so you can feel better having a synthetic oil I guess.

Not to be a dink, but you could probably search through the last half dozen or so X vs Y oil threads you started and get 95% of the answers you're looking for.

The most common reply in those threads was what vehicle, what engine, what driving habits and change interval. Otherwise, it's like asking how apples compare to oranges.

As I cant find PU at WM anymore,I last used STFS,and its been great, even starting at below zero.SOPUS sure dropped the ball with PU losing availability, people WILL use something else (and cheaper) and might not look back.

Just a comment to NHGUY. I also have not seen PU in Wally World for awhile, but was in the store yesterday and they had the 5 quart jugs of PU for the exact same price as the PP on their price roll back deal.

Seems like PYB is the oil to beat at that price point.

Used to be MC semi syn.

I would personally spend $5-$10 extra and get M1, PP or QSUD.

My area Wally World is over 15 bucks for a 5qt. jug of Mobil Super 5000!! So actually its 2 bucks and change less then Super Tech Full synthetic. I understand, everybodys situation in life is different.

I'd pick the ST simply because it's loaded with boron and doesn't use sodium in the add pack. Otherwise it's a toss up, the servicable life of both is probably pretty similar IMO.

Why not spend another 4 bucks and jump from ST to QSUD? Then you'd be in a whole 'nother ballpark.
