Supertech ST16 cut open

They are as I just got 2 and the date code format and baseplate says Napa ProSelect. I'll go 6k on one when I run my FU filter to 14k or more

I saw in the box of the 8 ST 3614's I bought they say 95.7% and I forgot what the ISO method is or didn't pay attention to it. Gotta be better than a Puro

Since Wally's best known filter line is Fram, it makes sense the SuperTech part numbers mimic the Frams...even if they are made by Wix. Easy crossover sales.

Would that nitrile combo valve be a problem in Mahzurrah?

I took a Pro-Tec 159 off my mothers Grand Marquis and it sounded good to me. No startup rattle. I did not have anything to dissect it with. Car was garage kept in Kansas City.

I have run the Wix combo valves in Napa Silver wrapping without any apparent issue here, even on the coldest of our winter days (about 0 F) parked outside.

However when I discovered the 31516 used a Motorcraft style thread end bypass for the same price I started running those.

I should think the combo valve would work in Houston without issue for a sane OCI.

Is O'Reilly MicroGard equal to the NAPA Silver? NAPA stores are far and few between in Houston area.

Should be a piece of cake in Houston. Yes the Microgard would essentially be the same as long as you get current Wix made stock. The new SuperTechs would be another option.

Sadly our Wal-mart doesn't have them in yet. They still have a fairly healthy selection of purolators on the rack.

Yeah the Walmart I work at here in bama just got these in stock about 3 weeks ago. I've been working there almost 7 months and ive never seen them till then

I had to go to Walmart today. I looked at my size of the new Super Tech filters. I was surprised by the off purple color adbv, which is very hard, putting my finger inside, not very pliable, if at all. Apparently they use the combo valve in smaller filters like the Super Tech4386 and 4967?. I wanted to buy one, but resisted the impulse. Looks well made.
The same old Fram Ultras were there aslasttime I went a month or so ago. The same Extra Guard is in the same Ultra box. I once again took it out and placed it on the open Ultra box for someone to see it.
They have Mobil 1 on sale for $22.xx. I thought they had none in my 0w-30, but on leaving the store they had an endcap with the Mobil 1 oils, further down, and I got the three 0w30 jugs they had, which is what I went mainly to Walmart in the first place. Mobil has a $12 off each jug rebate on now. I went to the store to get a store receipt not online shipping. Last time it worked well getting the rebate online with the store receipt. It brings the cost to $13 per jug including about 9% tax. I hope it takes this time too, $36 back is good.

Im curious about the combo valves.
Not sure they seem like a wise design. Any info supporting their functionality? Any problems reported with a design like this?

I can't see using the combo valves in a cold climate area, but I could be convinced otherwise if a company would release technical information on them. Instead, I think they are relying on the fact that 95% of people will have no idea what a combo valve is and will purchase based on price.
