Any idea how this thing works? He gets the tractor rolling down the track with diesel power, then you see the super-charger open up on the hemi.

It is just linked in with the big diesels. For kicking in a few extra HP near the end of the run when everything is bogging down.
Pretty sure they've retired the tractor, at least there's nothing online about them since a few years back.
Slædehunden is the name of the tractor.
