The sunroof on my 2007 Civic has recently started squeaking as the body of the car flexes going over bumps, especially at low speeds. I think it's the rubber rim surrounding the glass rubbing in the metal of the roof (it doesn't have any "fuzzy" material on it -- just rubber). It's pretty annoying.

Granted, it's fairly dirty. But the other night I wiped it off with warm water and a towel and it really help. Is there anything relatively easy I can do to shut it up?

Spray some lubricant on a rag -heavily- and wipe over all the rubber trim. I do this to my wife's sunroof and it stays quiet as a mouse. I use Jig-A-Loo. I think any non-petroleum lube would work fine.

That link isn't working right now but as it happens I have a big tube of sil-glyde from when I replaced a stabilizer bar. I'm embarrassed to say but I didn't even consider lubing the rubber but lubing rubber against metal is exactly what I bought that stuff for! I'll give it a shot this weekend. Thanks!
