At one time a couple of years ago one of the members on here figured out Valvoline was making this oil.

Not sure if that is still the case but it would quite likely be like Napa synthetic blend. And that is a fine oil for typical 5k mile runs. Perfectly good for top off oil.

$5.99 is obviously high but given I saw $14.99 a quart for Pennzoil Platinum at 7-11…. This is actually somewhat reasonable at 5.99 at a gas station.

Cheapest oil I have seen was Quaker State synthetic blend for $4.99 at a local BP. Though now that is $5.99 a quart.

This is a head scratcher lol.isn't it!? One pic,red label showing too left, that was Sunoco a synth blend. The pics I took, are ultra. Nothing anywhere says its synthetic.only onback, says group Il .
On Sunoco a website, ultra is listed as full synthetic.
Its flash point is 401 degrees F (204 C). Its ccp is 6,000 I think? In my research, dino oils are Typically 5,000-6,000 ccp area. Synthetics are below 4,500

After researching,I've come too conclusion thier dino oils. Maybe older bottles?.theirs no full synthetic printed on them anywhere. Interesting enough,on website ,its pour point synth blend is 428 F .hats pretty dam good! The synthetic was 401F.
And,even on evpbay...thier is no more Sunoco 10w30 full synthetic. Amazon, ect.its Like mag1 synthetic 10w30.for whatever reason, they don't make it anymore.

If it's anything like Valvoline white bottle, the 5W grades show blend, but 10W-30 makes no mention of conventional or blend. Perhaps 10W-30 is one of the few remaining grades that can pass current/recent API standards in conventional base stock.

Yeah,I got excited thinking it was synthetic.becauae I always wanted too try synthetic from Sunoco but in 10w30.its def a dino blend I think. I liked back of bottle, made in USA! That rocked! Now I hiets only, where I live fram and super tech brand American.

At Walmart Quaker State Full Synthetic by the 5 quart Jug will run you. $22.97 or $4.59 a quart!

I used Quaker state starting 1995. Just a heavy basic oil. But used thier synthetic 2000s,clear bottle.that was super oil! But I'm on this ditto craze thing right now. Or Mobil super synthetic. I liked the citgo, because of the made in USA and flag on.it.

Would anyone here, run Sunoco 10w30 synth blend, for sever driving, and humid 97 degree summers? Or Mobil synthetic/ supersynthetic?

I understand…

Though I was just speaking only and specifically to oil available and sold at gas stations.

Cheapest I have seen is $4.59 for Cam2 Superpromax at Atkins Store in Charles City county near me.

Full synthetic cheapest is $6.99 for Cam2 full synthetic at Sunny’s country store in eastern New Kent county at Lanexa.

It could very well be Grp II/II+ EHC...
