Sub Inflation

Yesterday I was on the road and hit McDonald's for a McCrispy....they come plain....under the options mayonnaise was 70 cents extra...
I have never seen that anywhere but a McDonald's on Elkton-Newark road in Delaware... a cash grab...

Do you think the mayonnaise was made of quality ingredients? Or highly processed chemicals?

Reddit isn't very specific, but having worked in other fast food restaurants as a college student it is lowest bidder. The food chain I worked for used Kraft salad dressings and Miracle Whip and called it mayo.

Side McDonald's story: remember in the 1960's when MCD charged for ketchup for your fries, one or two pennies per packet? As a young kid, that tended to sour me on McD back then. At the time we lived near Hardees & A&W in NC, and they never did that back then. Pretty easy to decide where to eat the limited fast food we were allowed to have.

When your mayo gets old don't throw it out... better than peanut butter in mouse traps...seriously.

I don't use mayo much and now buy the smallest size and toss it in 3 months or so

Some McD's franchise owners play that cash grab game when special ordering ingredients on their burgers and sandwiches. The way to get around that surcharge is to ask for a packet(s) of mayonnaise when they hand you the order.
