Sub Deflation

Wawa hoagies are cheap. Good they aren’t. Primo or Jersey Mikes if I want chain food. A million places all over if I want something better.

The only questionable add I had on a small shop hoagie was a place in South Philly that used balsamic vinegar instead of red wine. Delicious sandwich otherwise, but I had to bring my own vinegar if I went there and got a hoagie (they had plenty of other great sandwiches too).

Our local Subway had a “ under 10 bucks” promotion which is 7 USD for a Ft long. I ordered a the cold cut Sub and had the full selection of bread, ordering the multi-grain and loaded it up with lettuce, tomato, pickles etc. Yep, it was under 10 bucks. That’s about as cheap as it gets here.

Gotta be highly processed deli meats in $2 and $4 gas station hoagies....just sayin'

A slipper factory near me gave way to a Wawa. I've never been inside. I'll see if hoagies are even offered.
My impression is that this store is smaller than average to allow for more pumps due to lot shape.
Are Wawas' hoagies brought in made on premises?
Wawa bakes the rolls in the stores. I believe they bought the recipes and rights from Amoroso's...a Phildelphia area bread bakery( there are several...Liscios, Corropolese). I believe the deli meats are delivered already sliced in portion controlled packaging. The sandwich counter employees assemble according to the ticket from the customer's touchscreen order, wrap the hoagie and tape the ticket and call out the ticket number. They sell a lot of other stuff...pizza, breakfast sandwiches, burgers, burritos, salads.
They were the purveyors of touchscreen menu ordering.
