Well nooffense as I know things change I have found that much out lately. I have been wrong a few times now not becasue I was wrong but because the product changed since I was last right! Even then though Lucuas products where never stellar products the white paper on the synthetic oils and such always looked less then great! The word synthetic can mean almost anything today. So generally it is best not to go doing business with companies that have a reputation for churning out lo grade stuff for better then 20 years. All they have is really good marketing!
It's sad when you have to rely on European Standards instead of American. Clint Eastwood made a good point in the movie Gran Torino-that was assembled at the plant he had worked at most of his life by respectable people like himself.
What Pablo you do not remember that Lucas oil stabilizer is bright stock with a little bit of ZDDP and calcium tossed in? Forgotten how underwelming their white papers on their synthetic oils where when they first came out.You do not recall all the many times that Royal Purple non-racing synthetic not only sheard out of grade but also did not protect as well as far cheaper oil's on the market often times not doing as good in UOA as 49cent a quart dino oils?Their 15W40 long Rider did ok and so did their Race products but their race products only mathced at the time the Mobil-1 regular stuff so it definitely was not worth the added cost. I too am getting older so my memory for specific details is not what it used to be but I can still recall all the disapointing non-racing RP UOA's especialy their 5W30.
RP has advertising and that is about it even when Terry Dyson was all excited about it for a while a (very short while)when it first came out I was underwelmed and said so! I am very consistent Pablo and I take things like integrity seriously. That is the great thing about bullitin boards with a good search function. If you go back far enough you can tell who is consistent and who is not! 99% of the questions asked should be referenced to the older post's since those are the ones that had tribologists and lubrication engineers and chemist actualy takeing the complex and making it understandable to the layman!
A good search function would let people find this information rather quickly. It took me 30 minutes to find two old UOA of mine on here. In fact I saved it in my favorites since it was so darn hard to find.
