Stopping brake hose flow - tool/fitting?

Subscribed. I've always filled the master cylinder to the top, then kept an eye on it and worked fast the few times I replaced brake calipers and reused the hose/hoses.

Me too. But sometimes it’s a step in many. Like
Right now I’m doing ball joints and replacing hoses. Would be nice to stop the flow and not be on the hook to work fast on the brake part.

In the future I’ll likely refurbish the calipers which will take time…

Some know I'm going to try to rebuild my 37yo brake caliper, and some know I have very little free time with work and kids. So it could take a bit of time... So, what to do regarding brake hoses? I'd like to remove the caliper, so a rebuild, but not empty the reservoir and MC. I've thought...

That didn’t come to a real conclusion, and here I am again removing hoses…

Vice grips worked fine since I was swapping hoses.

I think the acorn nut is the answer…

I’ve seen those sets and fittings. I guess I don’t know enough about flares. If my brake hoses tend to be M10-1.0, then how does that correlate to AN fittings?

That’s ok in a pinch but I want something more positive if I’m leaving it a while. Sometimes I do projects and it’s days or more.
