Still finding API SN products out there?

Good indicator of how much oil a place moves. And at the end of the day, does it really matter ? How many engines require "SP" engine oil ? 90% of vehicles out there spec SN or older.

A lot of oils still produced that are only SN. I think to meet the manufacturers approvals they desire to meet it would make the product more expensive with lower SA and Posphorus (in higher grades) required by SP.

I checked the stock at a Napa in Canada and still found some old stock marked SN. How about you all?
At least in the US parts stores tend to be among the slower places that sell oil, Walmart and Amazon have them beat so badly that no one with the most remote sense of frugality buys oil at the parts store. For less popular and likely way overpriced products will sit on the shelf longer at the parts store.

You say that, but O'Reilly, Autozone, etc have as much shelf space for oil as Walmart does. Granted, WM no doubt turns that inventory much faster. I did buy the oil and filter for my most recent oil change at O'Reilly too. It was one of their "bundle" deals of the oil + filter and I still upgraded the filter. Total cost was about $32. I'd only save about $4 if I bought my normal choices at Walmart. I could walk to O'Reilly from our house too (I drive past WM twice a day to/from work so that's not an issue anyway).

I saw "SL" rated oil at a store last week.
Frightening.... API SL is from almost 2 decades ago and only a current spec for 2-3 years. Granted, companies could still continue making it for as long as they want, even still make it today if they choose to.

A number of the Euro xW-30's stayed SL, GC being one of them, because of the phosphorous limit imposed in SM. So, depending on the oil, it may not actually be that old.

My oil stash is made up of SN+ / D1 Gen 2 approvals . For my GDI engine I know that D1 Gen 3 oils are better for it - but I keep lower mile OCI severe schedule with my GDI engine and all is well to date .

Are D1G3 oils even on the market yet? I dunno.

Nevermind... just found this thread today: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/current-list-of-dexos-1-gen-3-oils.352686/

Embedded in the thread was the current D1G3 list: https://www.gmdexos.com/brands/dexos1_3/index.html
