StarTron Solved My Weed Trimmer Carburetor Problems

My Echo SRM-225 had been running poorly for a couple of years. I would have to run it on choke to keep it going. It would fuss, stumble and die when using it. It got so bad that I did not use it for the last three years. Considered getting a new carb for it but just bought a battery powered Stihl.

Anyway I was thinking about the Claims of StarTron that it cleans fuel systems. I put new gas in it and gave it a heavy dose of StarTron, maybe 5 times the basic amount. After a few choice words I did manage to get it running. I ran it on choke for about ten minutes and shut it off. Let it sit for 48 hours and started it up. Lo and behold it runs like new. Started on second pull. So using this product may keep a fuel system clean.

Battery powered Stihl? My gosh I'm so glad your 225 is running!

I met a gentleman at a flea market with a trailer load of weed eaters and chain saws that he said he picked up of the street that were being thrown away. All of them that he had in his trailer ran so I asked him what he had to do to get them to run. He told me that he puts a 1/4 th cup of SeaFoam in them and primes them and then he puts in 2 stroke gas and they run. I tried this with a WeedEater blower that my Dad had in his lawn shed that had to at least have been setting for 10-12 years. Sure enough, It worked and started on the third pull. I ran it all day and went through two tanks of gas and never missed or anything. Made me a believer in his system.

Solvents and potions might fixed a gummed up carb. More certain is disassembly and manual cleaning, and even more certain is carburetor replacement, which costs almost nothing given the proliferation of Chinese replacements.

I used to run 87 E10 and used Sta-Bil in the off seasons. Years ago I switched to only 91 E0 for my OPE and no longer treat it with anything. Everything starts as expected, carbs and bowls are clean when inspected. Same goes with my Lawn-Boy and Echo saw, 91 E0 and Royal Purple HP 2-C oil, start quickly even after sitting for 6+ months at a time.

I know its not available in all areas but if it is, use it.
