I used the old Echo string trimmer for the first time today since it was stored last October. It started on the first pull and idled and throttled up beautifully. It was stored with Stabil treated gas with a little Startron added into the mix. I'm convinced these two additives work as advertised and if used regularly will rid your OPE of 90% of fuel related problems.

Chris, Startron is an enzyme fuel treatment and stabilizer, and it gets rid of ethanol fuel problems. I get mine at my local OPE dealer. I use it in all my OPE and frequently in my vehicles as well. I have O methanol fuel problems. Just google Startron.

I would give VPracing OPE fuel a try can be found at Home Depot

OOOKay, Supposing I tell you that my string trimmer is sitting unused in the shed since last fall. It has maybe 1/2 a tank of my rich 32:1 mix. When It runs out, it will get more mix that was jugged last summer. The mix oil has stabilizers in it. I'm about 1/2 way through a qt of Valvoline mix oil. Before that, I used stuff I got at the hardware store. Just as I use thick oil, I favor a rich mix and can't be bothered to mix different mixes for 3 2 strokes.
