Starting up a engine that’s been sitting for a few years?

That doesn't help....But most all TBI GM's that haven't had the TBI rebuilt in the last 20 years need it.
That’s the next step. The CEL/SES light is on and it’s running a little smoky. Don’t think it’s a BHG.

task for this week is drain the cooling system again, let’s hope the Blue Devil flush didn’t eat through the new radiator. We called it a day on Sunday. But at least it was on water only for this cycle - and it ain’t gonna freeze in NorCal anytime soon.

time for a citric acid flush.

My MG sat for 18 years. Turned the engine with a wrench to ensure it wasn't seized first. Gave a squirt of oil down each spark plug hole, gave it an oil change, and started cranking with a new battery. Oil pressure came up, but it turned out the electronic ignition had given up the ghost. Installed a new Pertronix module in the distributor, and it started right up, even on 18 year old gas.
