Working part time for a courier service. The truck I'm driving is a newer body style 2wd 4 banger Toyota truck. I'd say it is newer than a 98. The sucker has 250K!!!! It runs like it is brand spankin new. Pulled 80 on the highway like it was nothing with the A/C on today. The guy that is training me drives it like **** though, constantly starting out in 2nd gear, then immediatly shifting into 3rd, then 4th at like 20 mph, so it just luggs and knocks like crazy. Just thought I'd share. Toyotas can take some punishment!

Good luck with the job!

I can voutch for Toyotas taking a beating. My last yota lasted me 18 years of brutality! The 85 4x4 was driven through tree farms, buried to the frame in mud, airborn off jumps and loaded with endless supplies of lumber. Its started its trek with me in 85 carrying my YZ 125 to the motocross track and ended with a bang at a customers home when it popped a valve guide. Needless to say the new owner will get another 18 years out of it.

Daily Drives:
-2003 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner XtraCab, 2.7 Liter , Mobil1 Synthetic SS 5w30.
ODO 8600 Miles.
-1995 Toyota 4-Runner 3.0 V6, Mobil1 Synthetic SS 10W-30.
ODO 85000 Miles.

Some more info on the truck..........it doesn't burn a drop of oil between 4,000 mile changes! This thing will last FOREVER. The thing is, it does about 300 miles a day, and my boss is changing the oil that often! Can you say, Amsoil? I think I'm going to talk him into it so he's not under the thing every 3 weeks

Question for the Amsoil folks. Switching over on a vehicle with this high a mileage: good thing or bad? I don't want to talk him into it only to have a seal spring a leak like old faithfull

Also, he's frugal as heck, so he'll have to at least break even with the 4,000 mile dino changes. That means at least about 15,000 miles or so counting the aspect of a filter change in between, compared to 4 filter changes on a dino schedule. I doubt he'd go with Auto-RX. Hmmmmmm, maybe he could push the dino a bit longer. Perhaps I'll talk him into an oil analysis so he can pinpoint exactly how long this truck can go between changes. The 300 miles is pretty much all stop and go with idling and about 20 engine stops/starts, if not more. Your thoughts?
