I have had good results with it.Gents,
What do you guys think of the additive Star Tron, for problems with ethanol in fuel.
I hear it’s the best, any other recommendations for storing a car 9 months,
Thanks,
Dan
Short answer - it seems to do what it claims to do for most people.A few previous threads on this product. They appear to sell multiple products, perhaps not all these are the specific one you're looking at. However, some seem to be an exact match:
Just wondering if anyone has ever tried Star Tron? My 91 F150 5.0 seems to have water in fuel, starts running a little rough when tank gets down to 1/4 or so in tank. Runs fine after filling up. Any feedback on Star tron appreaciated. They make some big claims on their website.

My 1986 Mercury Capri 4 cylinder is carburetted and it was suggested I use some Startron fuel enzyme treatment to remove the ethanol from the gas for better operation and performance. The car sits for extended periods of time and a tank of fuel will last me about 4-6 months. I've always just used Sta Bil and it seemed ok, but the idea of removing the ethanol seemed better to me. Shortly after dosing and filling my tank with fuel, problems started. If ran for a while, it would start to stall at intersections or whenever it would have to idle. As the fuel level in the tank got lower, the...

I've been storing my bikes over the winter with Sta-Bil, but some people say they like seafoam better. The name "seafoam" sounds corrosive...Lol!

How does it compare to say Startron fuel products. Startron makes a big deal about how it does 50 good things for your engine and fuel as well as dealing with ethanol etc. I guess my question is how good is Startron at what it claims.....
I figure if I keep an eye on my fuel system etc it should be OK to use the Amsoil stuff in the marine applications. I just won't expect it to do much more than stabilize the fuel.

Anyone use this? Only 1 oz per 16 gal of fuel. Seems like something nice to use at every fillup, perhaps in place of MMO?
Thanks for the input.

Did a search and surprisingly did not find much. Guess there are not many that drive in the salt belt and store their cars for the winter.
Anyways, seeing that I drive in the area with the highest winter salt use in the world, my nice car (the BMW) gets stored for the winter, usually for about 5 months.
What fuel stabilisers do people use and have good results? I always store the car with ethanol free gas (Shell 91 here in Ontario), I usually use the Sta-Bil brand fuel stabiliser, but last year I used Seafoam in the tank, as it says on the bottle that it will stabilise fuel for up to two...

Found startron for gas engines on sale here, see this site: http://mystarbrite.com/startron/
I usually use sl1 or Stabil for winter, but now this product shows up. A bit cheaper too.
What's bitogs verdict?

What is the best gas stabilizer? I just ran out of my regular red Sta-bil and thinking what to buy next. I notice that Star Tron promotes it will treat more gasoline per bottle than Sta-bil and also hold it longer. Sta-bil also has its 360 as well, as well as marine 360. Star tron has product with a higher concentrate. Now, I know there are others what there. Ethanol Shield, you name it. Which one best for small gas engines.

I'm wondering if anybody has tried using the product "Star Tron" which is an Enzyme Fuel Treatment? Is it the only game in town or does it have other competitors?
I did a search on the name "Star Tron" but nothing in this forum came up.
Many thanks!

Which would be best to use every tank? Which would keep the fuel system clean the best? Or should I just use 2 or so ounces of Royal Purple Maxclean every tank?

I saw this product at Walmart...the 8 oz. bottle for $10.48 claims to treat 80 gallons of fuel (1 oz. per 10 gallons of gasoline). It is marketed as a 'Marine Motor Treatment' but should do the same in automotive engines. It claims to contain PEA and enzymes and gets many positive reviews.
Has anybody ever used this and if so what was your thoughts on it?

Was wondering if anybody here has used or uses this. Haven't seen it mentioned before. Having said that, this is some pretty pricey stuff at $28 a gallon.

Is data available to support the effectiveness of fuel stabilizers, such as Stabil 360 performance, Lucas and Startron enzyme treatment? Will these products do harm?

This is a good point. You can remove it from gasoline by water washing, but there’s no magic bullet that “neutralizes” it somehow but lets it remain in the mixture.Based on my experience, works well but be careful in that it may loosen or otherwise cause whatever is settled at the bottom of your tank to be drawn further into the fuel system. I'd use again in a new boat or one that that I knew was "clean", but be cautious otherwise. BTW, nothing truly neutralizes ethanol, but some are better than others at storage. I prefer Stabil Marine, but Star Tron has a good reputation.
