Saw this on the back of ST "full synthetic ATF multi vehicle". Is it safe to use in a 2011 Focus or not? Very misleading label or seems that way to me

You can use it in the transmission if it's spec'd for Mercon LV. The power steering should use Mercon V. Mercon V and Mercon LV should not be mixed.

I already have some ST Mercon V that I am using in the power steering. The labeling in the container confused me is all

Use exactly what OEM specs.

I notice this SuperTech ATF says its a replacement for Honda Z-1 and DW-1. No way in [censored] would i put this SuperTech ATF in a Honda. I'll spend an extra $20 and buy Honda ATF.

What about Mercon-V? The 4F27-E was specified for that in the early Focii; I'm not aware of any mechanical changes when Ford switched to Mercon LV

Probably the same as Mag 1 Low-vis ATF and all the other WPP-made LV ATF brands out there. Great stuff.

Honda specifically says that DW1 is backwards-compatible and can be used in all Honda automatic transmissions. In fact, they don't even make the old Z1 anymore. Therefore, it's ok for Walmart to call their ATF a replacement for both

What am I missing here? What is misleading about the label? Seems very clear to me what they say it can be used for and what not to use it for.

Yeah, it does cover a lot of fluids but maybe they have data to support their label claim.

How come it says "cannot be used with vehicles spec's G Mercon V and Mercon SP?? BUT: it's "recommended" for Mercon LV and Dexron VI; so explain what those two statements mean please.

Thank you in advance

Mercon V and Mercon LV are two totally different things. It's really quite simple.

Yes you can use it in the transmission, just not in the power steering as Mercon LV and Mercon V are not the same thing. They sell Mercon V separately.

Ford authorized back servicing the 4F27E with MERCON LV for complete refill and top off. They did the same with the 5R110 TORQ SHIFT. No other MERCON V applications were exempted.
