Yay!!!It’s time to change our oil to this folks it’s time
How come? Is it because it means less PAO?Of course the -42 pour point has me concerned![]()
Why? If it wasn't working out for you then there are other choices for oils with similar approvals.I guess I can give it another try. Car was burning the last formulation.
PS There are at least 4 threads about this oil now...
It actually has more pao than the previous formula, based on the MSDS atleastHow come? Is it because it means less PAO?
Or are you afraid of the winter months when in reality, the pour point is not the metric to go by.
I was kidding. Hence the laughing face. How come? Is it because it means less PAO?

IndeedGood to see API SP, ACEA A3/B4, MB 229.5, BMW LL01 and Porsche A40.
That is a well made and well tested oil.
That's new isn't it? Didn't Mobil 1 0w40 lose LL01 certification a while back?Good to see API SP, ACEA A3/B4, MB 229.5, BMW LL01 and Porsche A40.

All the 0W-40's did, but now some are getting it back, so I'm wondering if BMW changed the parameters again? That's new isn't it? Didn't Mobil 1 0w40 lose LL01 certification a while back?

Had to go to Walmart to get a few things. Checked the oil aisle and found this.
It does in the case of the API approvals (and ACEA and a few others). Also, Mobil can self-approve for the API stuff, as can most of the majors.Meets or Exceeds does not equal having approvals.
API shows Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 0w40 has the license for SN, not SN-Plus nor SP.
