What oil would you choose?

I chose to buy a 6 cylinder Ford F150 Raptor competitor called a Ram 1500 RHO. The manual recommends selecting an oil that meets MS-A0921 (Mopar Standard) but will allow any fully synthetic SAE 0W-40 engine oil that has the API Donut trademark with a certification level of API-SP or later. API-SN+ is also acceptable.

Mopar (only at dealers)
Pennzoil Ultra Platinum (very easy to get at reasonable prices)

Also allowed because - Fully Synthetic, SAE 0W-40, API-SP or API-SN+

Given price and availability, I'd probably go with the recommended Pennzoil, though I like Mobil and Castrol choices too. They're all good oils.

Available at Wal Mart, cheap, very good oil! People track all the time with that oil.

Just to add, Ultra Platinum is not of same performance levels as most oils you listed. Look for oils that have MB229.5 approval. Ultra does not!

I would go with the Liqui Moly Leichtlauf High Tech 0W-40 (API-SN+) first, next would be the Castrol Edge Euro and if money is an issue, then Pennzoil Platinum Euro.

Any of those would be excellent choices. Picking one over the other isn't going to add any additional life to your engine.. Changing the oil before it's depleted will make the biggest difference.

My thoughts? What I'm using in my cars is Mobil 1 ESP 0w30. The ones you listed are also good choices.

I have a 2019 Raptor with the twin turbo v6. I’ve opted for Mobil 1 0w40 fs euro. So far no issues either in 95 degree weather or sub zero temperatures. Easy to get at Walmart. Pair it with a Mobil filter.

For that price, I'd just get AMSOIL Signature Series personally. You can probably bump up to 5W-40 unless you're starting below -25F or so. You can get AMSOIL Signature Series for around 10.49/quart when buying the case of 4 gallon jugs. You have a high end, performance truck. Looks like it starts around $70k. I'd personally give it the best. The difference between Pennzoil Ultra Platinum and AMSOIL Signature Series for the lifetime of the truck is probably less than what you're paying in interest and insurance for a month.

Edit: nevermind, I double checked, and there's no SS 5W-40. 0W-40 then. You've got a 500+ HP engine. AMSOIL Signature Series or a Euro oil if I were you.

Those all would be good. I'd also add Quaker State and Havoline 0w40 to the list. I think they make 0w40 or 5w40 Euro oils. I suggest choosing an oil you can get from Walmart for a resonable price.

If NAPA offers NAPA brand 0w40 then add that to your list. NAPA oil is Valvoline oil. As for filter, I recommend NAPA Gold.

You might also want to put a pair of (reusable) Filtermag SS on the oil filter to remove more ferrous particles from the oil. In the 3rd photo you can see a cut open oil filter can. On the inside of the can you can see the ferrous metal particles that the magnets captured.
