Here in Alabama there's a new gas station named Entec, with more different levels of octane available then any of the other gas stations I've used like, Mobil, Shell, Exxon or Chevron. They offer 5 different octanes, top three are 91, 92 and 93.5. I justed started using the 93.5, yesterday, went to the Braves game last night and filled up again this morning. Prices dropped .02 since yesterday. 93.5 octane is selling at 1.889 per gal today, Jul 3, 04.
Anyone ever heard of this stations gas, good or bad? Locally everyone seems to think it's exceptional and everyone likes it. Looking for some opinion's from this forum.
Thanks to all who reply.

I'm not really familar with the gasoline market in Alabama, but here is what I can provide.

Entec Stations, Inc is headquartered in Montgomery, AL, and is a member of SIGMA - Society of Independent Gasoline Marketers of America.

Based on my info, Alabama is mainly a conventional gasoline state, with a 7.0 Reid Vapor Pressure requirement in the Birmingham area.

The major petroleum product pipelines crossing Alabama are the Colonial, Plantation & Amoco pipelines originating from refinery sources in Texas & Louisiana. Colonial, for example, has the capability of delivering fungible (co-mixed product) and segregated gasoline products.

Entec gas could be either branded or fungible, and the quality of the add pack will likewise be related.

For more info relating to the refinery source & possible add pack, the best method I currently have is to ask at a station ”Who transports the gas and what terminal does it come from?”

Don't know what pipeline(s) they use, but they do inject their own additive packages on site at each station.

Not sure if I understand - are you referring to the various octane grades?

I don't know the details of what is injected, or if it just for octane increase, extra detergents, or whatever. But I do know that they do it.

Great info, thanks, seems they do boost their premium from 92 to 93.5 versus all the other local stations are at 93. I just started using FP, which means I can go for the cheapest 91 octane fuel available at the time of filling up, not having to worry if their detergent package will keep my fuel and injectors clean.
