This part number is made in Thailand and actually says Subaru on it! On the other side, it says the actual Subaru part number
Anchor 9023 fits Subarus of the late 90s and early 00s, including the first-gen Forester

Interesting. I like the quality of most Thai products. They were the biggest manufacturer of hard drives before China starting making them. They even supplied the big name Japanese companies. Most of you have had one in a machine, know it or not.
But the old Anchor had poor quality mounts made in China. Too hard, they cracked, no silicone goo gel in mounts that should have had it.....

Is this just a Dorman situation where the OEM officially abandons the part and sells the remaining stock plus blueprints to a third party?

Third party first exhausts the remaining stock and the first few customers think they've struck gold.....after that third party starts cranking out their own with considerable "cost saving measures".

But maybe Anchor OEMs the mounts? (I doubt it)

edit: does Subaru list the part as discontinued? That might support or disprove my theory. NOT individual dealership inventory, but does the corporate mothership still consider the part active stock?

It's not that uncommon for some brands to re-box others' parts...especially older stuff. I recently bought an "Ultra Power" clockspring from Rock Auto for an old Caravan. It was embossed with the Mopar part number and Pentastar logo.

That said, never saw this in play with Anchor mounts.

I do not like Walker aftermarket exhaust products. If the pipe is not mandrel bent, they are terrible. Smaller diameter, horrible looking bends, and their mufflers neck down inside and severerly reduce flow. I bought a replacement muffler for a 90's Z28 Camaro from Walker and the muffler inlet went from 2.75" to 1.25" << not a typo, 1.25 inches!! How is a LT1 350 supposed to breathe through that?

When the tariff thing with China was happening, some Chinese companies tried opening business' in Thailand with a Shell Thai citizen owner for the purpose of laundering the source of Chinese goods and get the rate that Thailand negotiated with the US.
The Thai government has been shutting them down, arresting the people they can and banning the ones in China from doing business or visiting Thailand. Thai government doesn't want the poor Chinese goods tainting their reputation and every laundered product takes away from their domestic companies and working people's salaries. They also wish to keep their #1 friend and ally, the US, happy.
Some laundered stuff probably got through and some may not have been caught and stopped yet.

If you had a Z28, you should've used Borla :D
Or at least Walker's own Dynomax, which is mandrel bent.

But for stock replacement, the best I've seen is Norhteastern exhaust. While they're not mandrel bent, they are stainless steel, so they last longer :)

The only other cheap mandrel bent option is BRExhaust, but it's aluminized.

I put Dynomax cat-backs on a Cherokee and a Blazer. Sounded decent on a straight six and a V-6 single exhausts. Not too loud, just a nice bass sound tone. Of course, they didn't sound like dual exhaust V8s, but we know that ain't happening.

Well, their main telecom provider(who also is tied with their government) has been in trouble with corruption and taking Chinese/Singaporean money(Shinawatra Group). But lately, the Chinesium tire brands have been setting up shop in Thailand and Cambodia. The electronics supply chain seems to like Vietnam, but lately Canon has been making copiers in Thailand. Cambodia’s Hun Sen has been trying to make waves with Thailand and Vietnam to try to influence us…

I have used Anchor motor and transmission mounts on several vehicles and have never had a problem. Including their liquid filled mounts. Pioneer brand mounts have also performed well.
Same here. Even the cheapest motor mounts worked great on my 1995 Escort. Given the poor reputation of aftermarket motor mounts I attributed the good quality due to the fact that one in particular was used on a lot of other vehicles as well (some non Fords as well) so they made a lot of them and got good at it.

I agree 1000% that Northeastern Exhaust was the best copy of the Honda stock system I've ever seen out there! Plus stainless steel, very nice.. The welds looked thick, and complete. Unlike some of that walker stuff, that was hilariously inadequate.. But back to Northeastern, it was a system made in Taiwan I think, could've been China. Either way it was mandrel bent on the 96 Civic I put it on. might be different based on model.

As the world's largest grower of natural rubber, Thailand also has much experience making finished rubber products such as tires, belts, and hoses. Raw synthetic rubber is typically imported then made to finished goods in Thailand.

A mechanic friend of mine demonstrated how they checked motor mounts at their dealers shop. Park brake on. Left foot on brake. Right foot taps gas pedal. 2nd mechanic watches engine. A sideways V-6 can easily tilt 3 inches at the top of the engine. Then put into reverse with left foot on brake and repeat. It can tilt 3 inches in opposite direction. As long as there is no “ Clunk” it passes.
