The used cars market is crazy.
Just sold my 17 Kia Sportage (bought 8/2016) with 50k miles for $17.8k to CarMax. In&out in 2 hours
The car is great mechanically but started to age. Lots of swirls on black paint and scratches on plastic.
Some 1.5 years ago, I thought of trading it and got an offer of $15k or so.
If you have a used car - now is the time to sell it

A 2017 is "started to age" ? How long do you normally keep a car ?
Yeah it is for me. 6 years old car, definitely doesn’t look new no more. This is the first one I had for 5+ years

insane. i bought my kia for 13.9k. Carvana offered me 20.1k. May have to consider a sale and purchase!

You would hate the 19 yr old jeep I daily drive. LoL
Not at all. I didn’t say my car was old and stinky, I said it started to age. I wouldn’t sell if the market wasn’t that hot, can use the money elsewhere at the moment

And if you trade it in for another car, there’ll be also sales tax reduction (10% here in WA)
Trade in and buy elsewhere:
6.75% here but dealers are around 21-22k max right now.
the additional 5k makes up for the 6.75% sales tax.

trade in and buy new only. for the sales tax reduction in ohio. And carmax doesnt sell new?? or did I miss it?

Some CarMax locations are new car stores as well.
