So you think you have seen it all while driving? I think we all tend to get numb to some of the things we see while driving.. fail driving-license from cracker jack box?,cars falling apart, people doing drugs/alcohol.. texting swerving off road... even car wrecks..

Well this wasnt a wreck but it was loud.

The backstory:

Driving home from Lovely Cleveland on the 176 highway. Radio is off.
Start hearing noise like a stadium announcer.. windows are cracked about an inch.
Then this turbo Taco flys up past me from a merge lane, its so decrepit you can practically see the rust falling off it.
his lane was about 20feet below and 50ft to the left of my left lane.

Get hit with unbelievably loud wall of sound. I roll up the windows and its still too loud to talk without full out yelling.


fun facts.. taco didnt have front or rear window.. probably blown out from SPL.. did have a giant light bar bolted to hood..

it must have been the block party cruiser?

Also can someone tell me what kind of music that was.. cuban reggae?

A little story:

A couple years ago I was at the gas station, when I hear and feel a thumping sound. It gets louder, and louder... Eventually I realize it's a lowered full-size truck driving down the street, and pulling into the gas station. He pulls in and parks at a nearby pump. I realize that the entire bed is filled with subwoofers, surely with amplifiers underneath the subs. He shuts down his stereo, sees me looking at him, and says "pretty bad-a**" huh". I start moving my mouth as if I'm talking, but I'm not making any sound. He yells "What" and I just keep moving my mouth like I'm talking to him...

He gets annoyed when he can't hear me, and fires his thumper stereo back up. I just drove away laughing, and glad that I didn't live in the area and would have to listen to his mobile earthquake.

Makes sense for the dudes smart enough to protect their hearing. I wear ear plugs while riding, even with a stock exhaust system ... long term wind noise is aggravating.

Good story. I’ll say, there is someone in a nearby town, who has one of those two seat side by side three wheel motorcycles. I don’t live by it, so I’m usually outside when ai encounter it, but our paths have crossed a number of times on these beautiful days we have been having. That thing blares. Incredibly loud. But they play music, and it’s clear as a bell. You hear him coming from long distances, but he’s playing music, not bass noise.. and as he goes by, too loud to stand, the music is clear. No real distortion or anything. It’s actually impressive.

but subwoofers just pushing bass everywhere? No thanks.

I've been around the GWI and one car I saw similar to the rusty Taco was a Wrangler with outward mounted air-horn looking speakers, around 5 of them, made it LOUD.

Tend to see more stuff like that in summertime.

Regarding loud motorcycles. I MUCH prefer loud motorcycles over quiet ones. If I can’t see you, being able to hear you just might save your life.
