This morning I saw a comparing between Pennzoil Yellow Bottle and Supertech Synthetic... both 5w30 IIRC. Pennzoil had more miles on it but the results looked better! I can't remember where this is.. sorry I don't have a link for it. So now I'm considering switching my parent's cars to PYB instead of Supertech Synthetic and go 5k miles.

Anyone have experience with this?? Stories about this switch? something?

The new Supertech full synth meets some stringent specs from some car makers.
I consider it very good. It is creeping up in price.

I say to go by the specs.

I'm not shure what the 5w30 ST Synth carries, but ST Synth 10w-30 HM carries an A3, even the best synth blends are only A1.

PZYB might be a great oil, but it's only rated SM and approaches the performance of an A1 oil at best, which is 80% the capacity of an A3/5 oil. Look at this graph tool to compare ACEA and API ratings.

That being said, PZ has some great cold specs. imo, the appeal of the ST synth oil is the 10w-30 HM w/A3, unless ST synth 5w30 claims A5 or the vette spec, which I think it has.
