Ok, so which subcompact rivals or exceeds the comfort of this BMW then?
It's not about exceeding. It's about what is enough, and the other benefits that come with having a smaller, lighter car.

I only go by what you wrote and you made it sound like small cars can be as comfortable as the larger ones. That’s the reason I responded. It's not about exceeding. It's about what is enough, and the other benefits that come with having a smaller, lighter car.

Now, I totally get that small vehicles can be more comfortable than they appear to be and some large ones can be less comfortable than what they appear. But generally speaking size does have an impact on comfort, that is why people gravitate towards bigger vehicles. Especially as they get older and can afford it.
Yeah, in NA it makes no sense to have these cheap cars so short and small, as many people never parallel park or drive in tight pre-car designed cities or streets. This is one of those little cars that people think everyone else should be driving.
Don't get me wrong. I loved my 5 series and I wouldn't be surprised if I get another in a few more years.
It's just the shock that actually, after a week and a half in a Picanto, I've come to the realisation that if I absolutely had to, I could quite easily get by with one. And when you think about it, nearly everyone drives too much car, and as guilty of it as I am, it's quite wasteful.
So similar in size to a geo metro?Looks like this car is 10" shorter bumper to bumper than a US mirage. I'd love to have one of these. I miss small cars.
Translation, "spicy, hot"So, Picanto is officially a synonym for "Penalty Box."
It presents in photos as punishing. Must be one of those "You think you hate it now, just wait until you drive it" kind of vehicles.
Not only could I do a U turn in a phone booth with it, I could change the rear tire without using a jack. LOL.Steering is a bit light, but it's direct and sharp. The turning circle is excellent and on country roads up to 60mph it's quite okay.
