Ok so my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder has the VQ40DE V6 and this motor has a real small oil filter it looks like a scooter or go cart filter! Anyway I would like to go two oil changes on a Fram Ultra but is it more of a risk with the filter being so small?

The truck has 47,000 miles and is well maintained I usually dump the oil every 6,000 miles my oil choices are M1, Castrol Magnatec, and I just bought some Quaker State Ultimate Durability.

I do a mid change oil filter swap. That filter is HALF of whats on my mowers. Now they do make a kit to move your filter and maybe one could modify to use another bigger filter? So easy to slip under and get to the filter and lube up your arm and the dribble helps keep the rust at bay:)

What he said. What filter is on your Pathfinder now?

Your probably just fine. I am just a bit OCD about a engine that I have not had for that long. My Xterra seems to be doing fine at 104k but I purchased it last summer with 90k with a full service history. Pulling a camper to KY Friday so the engine is getting a bit more severe service. So the cost of a filter is about the same as a fair beer at a bar. Not having to be at the side of the road like I see so often with the hood up is worth the little extra.
