Forgive me since this is kind of a repost, or call it a combination of several threads I've either started or received advice.

My 92 Galant has a slight tick (lifter for sure) so I've been adding MMO (6oz bottles) to top her off as she burns oil for about the past 1k miles...I also added a bottle of SLOB about 300 miles ago.
Currently running SuperTech 5w30 conventional and boy is that oil black as can be at this point.
Should i run it for another 500-1000 or change now? current oil has about 2k on it.

also, someone recommended a high mileage oil...but as far as i know, the seals are fine...would it be a waste?

I'd change it with some more ST (keep it cheap). I know oil color doesn't mean everything, but after 2000 miles it looks like you need a change.

If you want to go a little more pricey, change it with MaxLife instead.

The MMO is probably doing some cleaning of the internals which may be causing the oil to go black...

You might want to try a bit of Seafoam in the oil for a couple of hundred miles to see if you can get some more stuff out of there and then change the oil out.

thanks guys...think i'll run the Seafoam in the crankcase for about 500 and then change with SuperTech High Mileage 5w30 conventional.
