Silicone radiator hose installation

Stick with the constant tension clamps instead of the worm type. You can easily over tighten and damage not only the clamp but cut the hose. I used to replace the spring clamps because I thought they weren’t as good, but I’ve since learned they maintain tension while allowing for adjustment over time. The worm clamps won’t. I tend to keep them when I part out a car as buying them OEM is expensive.

Silicon hoses came on the 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor I sold to my nephew. Blue, but only up top. The previous owner likely changed out the bottom one since it looked like they had a leak and their solution was to put hoses and cheap clamps down below (too large, with long tails showing these clamps were way bigger than necessary). It was apparent when we got it years back and the cheap hoses slipped off the oil cooler.

He hasn’t had any coolant leaks with the remaining silicon hoses.

With the EPDM rubber compounds lasting easily 15+yrs I don't see any need for silicone hoses with their drawbacks unless you are looking for fancy colors.
