SIG Sauer P320 self discharges

The Air Force today has arrested the dead airman’s coworker and charged him with manslaughter and making a false report. He apparently was goofing off with the P320 and accidentally killed his coworker and then blamed it on the gun as an accidental discharge.
I'm not seeing anything about that on any of the major news sites.

The dead body in the autopsy room pretty much says it's a real problem.
That tragic death says something - but you’ve leapt to a conclusion before all the facts are in.

For example

The Air Force today has arrested the dead airman’s coworker and charged him with manslaughter and making a false report. He apparently was goofing off with the P320 and accidentally killed his coworker and then blamed it on the gun as an accidental discharge.

That’s the problem I have with many of the “conclusions” in those videos and in this thread - the rush to judgement before all the facts are in.

I am seeing more gun ranges post rules online and at the range prohibiting the P320 from being brought onto their property. Banned. No sale, trade, carry, shooting, or repair work on the P320 is allowed.
Right or wrong, justified or not, this is going to kill this gun, and badly damage Sig in the process. I've been involved in shooting and going to ranges since 1963 when I was 11 years old. And I can't remember a time when a particular brand of weapon was actually banned from the premesis due to a safety concern.

For sure there is an issue with the FCU design that needs to be figured out, and I'm a bit confused why they haven't been able to do so yet definitively. There are a million of them out there
Figure it out and do what ? No way they can fix even a fraction of the ones already in the field. I'll bet you the % of P320s that were eligible for the recall only had maybe 20% done.

I think we have found a problem. Gun related and major news sites. Laughable if not tragic the skews and omissions
AP News website has (3) stories between June and now related to "P320" with the most recent one being about the death of the airman (but not the most recent story). The article is completely "fair" in its writing, IMO.

So there's no point in Sig Sauer trying to figure out what may be going on with the P320 then? Why bother?

No, not at this point. Imagine they absolutely, 100% fix the issue and it's validated by countless 3rd-parties as being solved, fixed, and safe. Then what ? Release a P320 vX and admit there was an issue but, "trust us", we fixed it ? Will the public trust them ?

It's a shame too..... Our son has a P320 and it's a beautiful shooting gun. It feels great in your hand and it feels great when fired (recoil control, etc).

Well that’s interesting

It is...so the airmen that was shot was with a fellow airman's firearm which violates rule #2, never point a weapon at anything you don't intend to shoot.

Or he knew something about Epstein 😂
