Should solar farms and nature work in harmony?

Shaping up to be a high solar output day. Here is the weather forecast for Vulcan, Alberta ( home of Spock). It’s cold and sunny. The 5 square mile Travers solar installation is down the road from Vulcan. At 9:30 it was making 231 MW. I’ll see how close it can make it to nameplate. Not in the league of California but not bad for the 50th parallel.

Looks like it peaked out at 381 MW which is 82% of nameplate. Pretty good for mid February. There’s no worries about working with nature during the winter except to let rabbits and coyotes do their thing.

Around here schools have been putting up Solar over their parking lots and a few Supermarkets have also, work out great on those hot summer days when you have to go shopping and you can park in the shade. ;)
