Time out. Folks this is out of control. I want to satisfy the people who need something. Here it is.... I am saying it now.... Not even trying be a smarty.
"I have no technical reason, this is just my opinion and or casual observation." Or, "I am simply speculating here with respect to cause-and-effect."
I AM RETIRED. I have so many medical issues I have begun to lie to folks when they ask me "how I am?" by saying "oh, I am ok". Hence I personally do not even get to change my own oil anymore. I pay my nephew to come around and do that for me these days and then we visit. YET I still check under the hoods of my vehicles weekly to do what I was always taught , a thing called predictive and preventive maintenance. One of my life long hobbies was collecting / restoring / working on my own and others autos. I am sorry I kicked a hornets nest in a site I did not realize was so technical / investigative / results and proof driven. This is YOUR site and that is YOUR privilege. I do not have the energy or the drive at this point in my life to take samples and send my oil off and investigate etc.... YET, I totally agree that all of you guys who have responded are right in your comments about zero technical proof etc... Also that all of your suggestions of what you would do to try to come up with an answer are very well thought out, very knowledgeable, and hit the bull's eye for investigation and proof. No formal industrial mechanical or chemical engineering training. Just self taught plus trained by a host of fine older men who would go out of their way to pass on their knowledge to anyone willing to learn. I feel there is not enough of that going on anymore and we as a country are suffering from that type of world. You guys are 100% right. I offer you zero proof of my recent experience with a new (niche / boutique oil.) I was a bit surprised / humored by a comment, something like? Gee, "first post ever and already pushing a new type oil?" LOL so I did not pay my dues, post enough times or? so how dare I? LOL please? It all started with Amsoil years ago and I have had great success using that one. Now I am onto Shaeffer's due to comments I read across the internet and (don't freak if wrong) I think on one of the side threads of BITOG sites a while back. If I had no fear of problems due to this LSPI turbo issue I would never have even looked into anything since Amsoil has proven itself to me over 30 years. I surrender. Ok. No harm / no foul or hard feelings to any of you. It is not important enough (to me) to prove anything except to myself that I am no longer getting a pint or more fluid out during a routine oc than what I put in the car. Since it is that way. I will keep my trap shut and allow those that it is important to have their say. Please have fun, investigate , sample , prove what you need to prove to who you need to. That is everyone's right. I will keep my thoughts and observations to myself since I did not get what I expected out of posting here. Simple comments and experiences from car folks about their oil choices and reasons why and your preferences. PEACE.... Please , no arguing over my faux pas of stepping in something I have no energy for.
