Service Champ High Performance Synthetic HP4459, unexpected find

I was basing it on the VAFI/PGI partner list which lists Service Champ.

It looks like they are just using a variety of sources... Here below is the one that is VAFI/PG with the Leak Tested stamp and I will bet you this HP is the regular syn blend media.... I think the OP filter is coming from some other factory (not Afi) out of China because it would likely have the typical leak tested stamp and other font if it was Afi.

Here is a CHAMP made Service Champ "Synthetic" that is most likely just a typical Champ or Supertech MP syn blend filter.

Here is a Service Champ "Synthetic" which could be out of the AFI China factory with the silicone gasket and what looks like syn blend media.

Another VAFI

Here is one possibly from the other China factory that did the OP filter with this one also full syn media and what looks like a nitrile or aem gasket:

Great research. Thanks!

they need to launch a line for cars/trucks. would be quite the ultimate filter for now.

yes I actually spoke with a very cool dude in PG sales the other day and told him that and he said he would pass it along to his superiors.. I also asked very clearly if they had any connection with the new Mobil 1 filters and he immediately said NO.. where as when I asked about the Carquest, Microgard Select , STP etc.. He immediately said YES.

Maybe for the chrome finish. Don't let the "5u" make you think it's some super efficient filter. It's probably no better than 50% @ 5u.

Highline Warran is the middleman for the new Mobil 1 oil filter. Yep, no connection to PGI ... was dug into in another thread.

On Amazon they show the PG 5 Micron motorcycle filter as having: “96% Multi-Pass efficiency and removal of particles as small as 20 microns.”

Welp, I got my order delivered in the mail today.

These are made in Vietnam and do not have the same synthetic nylon backed media.

Comparing it to the CQP I got from AAP, it appears to have the same media as the typical PG; made CQP.

Not the worst case scenario as it’s the same or better efficiency, (CQP states 99.5% @ 20, while these state 99% at 20 micron), but I was hoping for the media shown by the OP for extended OFIs as I planned to use them during extended OCIs; the preference for depth holding capacity, but it’s still a decent value at $7 per filter.

@ZeeOSix I definitely prefer the build of the CQP overall, as it’s slightly taller. This particular Service Champ is basically a standard Premium Guard Extended Life? This HP4622 looks a lot like the PG4612EX. Same height I believe.

The Service Champ photos you posted look to have the same built configuration (and probably quality) as the CQP, MicroGard Select and Premium Guard. The size of the filters for the same engine application may be driven by the brand owner being specified to PGI.
