Septum rings are ugly

Not a fan. I always imagine it getting caught on stuff or filled with boogers. Ugh
Twenty years ago a bunch of us were doing a roof for an older Dutch couple from church. At the end of the day, the wife of one of the guys showed up to pick her husband up. She had just gotten a stud in her nose.

The lady of the house was delightful, and had a fairly porous filter, thus:

Mrs. O: "Oh, Hedder, I see you got one of dem t'ings in your nose."

H: "Yes, it helps me express who I am."

Mrs. O: "Yah, dat's nice, but don't your boogers get caught on it?"

imagine raging over a piercing LOL, I guess the silver lining is that someone in their 20s probably couldnt give less of a **** about what someone 2-3x their age thinks about their aesthetic choice
Who’s raging?

And in actuality more young men these days think conservatively about women and relationships than the older generations that were brain washed by feminism.
They don’t put up with this kind of stuff from women and they make it known instead of pretending they like it.

Another one I can never get along with is people piercing the ears of babies. I guess that may be a thing with certain cultures, but not here in America. It's a parent thing where they think their baby is "cool" with a stud in their ear. I don't think so...
Right! Let the child decide, when they are old enough.

I worked as a C/O (Corrections Officer) and always found it odd that heavily tattooed guys (and gals) in jail were shocked they got caught?? You have very distinct tattoos on your face / hands / arms etc... With everything being videoed it's almost like shooting fish in a barrel sometimes. Surrounding departments would submit a pic and we'd have guys that could tell you who that person was just by a pic of their hand. Don't get tattoos and drive a beige Camry if you want to be invisible. I agree with the piercing, just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

Right, and Im sure the girls getting them are absolutely distraught that a young man who 'wouldnt put up with it' are steering clear

They will be, once they're in their 30s and want to settle down, only to find out no successful man wants a tattooed up and pierced woman as his wife and mother of his children. Just like no woman wants a guy with no job. Except a guy can always get a job, but tattoos and scars from weird piercings stay forever.

Meh, take it or leave it. Not my thing, but doesn't bother me either.

Shocked that many still haven't learned to judge people "by the content of their character", as referenced by the late Dr. Martin Luther King. I know some real dirtbags that look like choirboys and some amazing people that would give you the shirt off their back with tattoos and piercings all over their bodies.

Not sure why some find stuff like this funny. The statistics are clear, 45% of prime working-age women (ages 25 to 44) in the United States may be single and childless by 2030. These are staggering stats and the outlook does not look good for women especially, since most do have a strong desire to have a family and raise kids. Their "sunset" years will be nothing but loneliness and misery that a house full of cats cannot fulfill.

Turns out the crazy cat lady from The Simpsons was not just a character, it was a glimpse of the future.

I do not find the septum rings attractive. Depending upon size and design, they can be a bit distracting if you have to engage with the person one-on-one.

However, I don't let it bother me, either. I don't look down on people who pierce or get tattoos; I don't much care much what others do to their own bodies.

Whether or not the septum ring would cause an issue at a workplace would certainly depend on the workplace situational environment. If I saw this person working behind the counter at a StarBucks, it wouldn't phase me whatsoever; hipsters gotta be hip! But, if I saw them in a professional situation requiring formal business attire, it would give me pause ...

But life is about choices, and I support their right to look as stupid as they choose!
