Septum rings are ugly

I have a female co-worker, probably close to 40 years old, that has a septum ring. It’s one of those bedazzled ones. I honestly have a hard time looking at her in the face when talking to her. I have seen plenty of women with nose rings throughout my life. I think the first time when I was a child at the doctor's office, the Asian Indian woman doctor had a stud in her nose. A small loop or stud on one of the nostrils, wouldn’t even get a second glance from me in today’s world, but the hog rings is just too much. What’s your take on septum rings?

I also have a hard time talking to someone with a loop through their nose. It just overshadows most aspects of the interaction. Face tattoos are similar, but don't bother me quite so much. Just this morning I was at the store, checking out, and the woman helping me had a neck tattoo by her ear. I've dealt with this woman several times before, and she is super nice and gentle. She gets a pass from me...

Bizarre thing to add to your face with most obsessed with how other's view their appearance.

Still not as strange as the rings people put in their ear lobs to stretch them out.

Another one I can never get along with is people piercing the ears of babies. I guess that may be a thing with certain cultures, but not here in America. It's a parent thing where they think their baby is "cool" with a stud in their ear. I don't think so...

Not crazy about it, but the more often I see it, the less I register it. It's like a number of other things, "not for me" but I don't care ultimately.
