As for putting things into your car like seafoam...DO NOT DO IT!

I've seen so many horror stories with this stuff, and yet, STILL people INSIST on taking the chance. Crazy.

--------------------------------------------------------------

The only thing you should put in your gas tank is GAS,
and maybe a PEA additive (which IS approved by the auto makers and often times added to pump gasoline)

The only thing that goes in the intake is AIR.

The only thing that goes in the crankcase is OIL.

Amen.

little update : He call me back saying, he coulnt find or heard any vacuum leak, and i came by, i told him about the MAF that being burn ( i take off clean yesterday ), he took it off and say " that thing look burn ", so he gonna try order one from auto zone and see what happent, he did recomment relocation the air filter out different direction, and that is exactly what I think when i first bought the car. and mabe order new air filter while im at it, the one one is cover full of dirt and sand.

but hopefuly its the maf.

One way to see if the IAC is to blame for a fast idle is to unplug it when the motor is idling. The engine should die.

If it does not then try tapping on it with a screwdriver handle to see if the idle drops down.

If this happens it is sticking, and seeing as you already tried to clean it you need a new one.

If it runs OK with the MAF unplugged though this points to a bad MAF.

If there is no check engine light on then there is no code to read. The IAC and MAF will seldom set codes other than lean or rich codes.

their is check engine light on on random time, and some hiscup while accelation or while crusing speed, event with all the emmission stuff take off, and check engine light on when i unplug the maf. I think the maf is bad for a while now, and it finally gave up. I do blame the cold air intake that run air filter on side of fender and their is no fender guard either, after fix the problem, my plan is to get new air filter, and new fender guard to cover it.

When you speak of changing the filter location, I'm getting the impression this car no longer has the stock airbox in place?

its not stock, I like CAI but not big fan of air filter on fender style , its BBK CAI, I think with all the dirt and sand that been suck thru it, it kill the MAF.

Very possible.

Can you show a pic of the CAI?

Something that locates the filter inside the fender (where it breathes from stock) is best.

Take a look of how I mounted the massive 9" AMSOIL cone in the fender of the Fox thread I have going in the pics section.

^I agree, at least on the premise of an air filter fouling his MAF. I mean, in that case this has nothing to do with Sea Foam AFAIK, unless you sprayed the MAF with it. lol

I dont have the picture of the cone filter location, mabe monday when i get to the shop, the reason my filter is trap full of dirt , the idiot preview owner, his fender is missing fender splash shield , and the filter is right in above front of the tires. and he daily the car for 2 years, and I bet he got water, dirt, sand, or wat ever on the road.

I did hit the cone filter and bunch for sand falling down. I put 20 miles since I bought it, event with new insurance and tag and inspection sticker, i still havent drove it much cause of it.

imma wait until my mechanic fix the problem, and i will slowly buy the fender splash shield and new cone air filter.

and we all know the MAF is the problem, and i know i can buy it cheaper , but I still desise let my mechanic buy it, if if it not its, he can return it, and imma just gonna pay a little more to pay him, but let him take care all the problem.

still no new :(, drove by yesterday after work, and still see the car park same spot, I wonder if he ever doing anything to it yet. Im very tempting to go pick the car up and do it myself. IDK should I give him a call to see what going on.

It's probably because they can't even pull the codes from it for starters. You need to find a REAL mechanic.

Or find the diagnotic plug in the engine compartment like I told you and ground it. Then turn the car to accessories and watch for the blink codes.
