Dodge Grand Caravan 1999 - 3.8L low compression on one cylinder

I swear I've encountered oil filters that took over 65ft lbs to remove!!
I’ll call legit to that. With cap sockets and a ratchet, I’ve come across a couple.

And easily truthful for Toyotas if the metal cartridge cap has been overtightened at all. I had to own and service one a few times to realize it was 6-8x harder off after 7500 than it was on.

Hey fellas,
Just wanna report I got her all put back together late today and cranked her up and she sounds super. Smooth as silk, no odd noises whatsoever and just great. I would like to say the smoothness is a result of getting that piston on a diet to match the others, but I'm not sure. probably wouldn't have felt it but the bearings probably would have.

Thanks for all the great advice and suggestions.
I'll wait a few days for the new rings to seat then take a compression reading. Pre-surgery that cylinder maxed out at 65psi.

Hey, if I can do it, you can do it. Just do it.

Did you take it out to inspect? I'd certainly be more suspect of threads in the block than a bolt failing at 65#

Yeah. Threads are fine. Took that bolt out and used one of the original head bolts.
It torqued to specs like a champ.

Doesn't reflect favorably on MAHLE head bolts imo.
But there are so many counterfeits that who knows.
Bought them on Amazon. 7 good....one dud.
