I gotta stop watching those 'Shopping at a grocery store in the 70s' videos on Youtube.
I'm OK buying motor oil at a discount, but *I* would be very skeptical buying a perishable food at a discount.
So, out of curiosity, why were they discounted? I'm guessing they were at the end of their "sell by" date?

Looks like 7 Jul was sell by date. Since it is whole in cry-o-vac it is in pretty good shape. I cut into steaks and freeze same day, minus one meal to eat. Never had issues doing this.

How can they label that "Prime" rib when the USDA grade is "choice"?
Prime Rib is the cut, not the grade. Only applicable to that cut. I guess you could have Prime Prime rib.

We bought a rib eye roast at Sam's last week. It was ~19lbs and ~$260. I cut a bunch of steaks out of the middle and made 2 prime rib roasts from the ends. They always turn out good. The last prime rib I did on my Weber kettle in the 13" cast iron skillet. It was amazing! Maybe I'll do one Friday since I am taking a half day... lol
