I remember one in school, name was Winston. 3 years older than myself. Built like a brick, probably 40 LBS more than myself, and a show off. Liked to push younger kids around. He was a star basketball player in high school, while I was in JR High wrestling. So he knew as much about wrestling, as I did basketball. He always led our PE class in warm ups. I swear that guy could do leg lifts for 30 minutes, and hold his legs straight 6" off the ground for 30 minutes. Tortured us to death!
Any way, I was a Freshman and Winston was a Senior. Went to PE and the coach had the wrestling mat roll out. Wrestling today. Winston was the biggest and strongest of the bunch, no doubt. Coach was trying to match us up by size, but nobody was as big as Winston.
So I raised my hand and said I will do Winston, he had no wrestling background. So we went at it. First thing I did was shot at his legs and took him down.
Got him in a pinning position that he could not escape. He whispered in my ear, let me up or I'm gonna beat the crap out of you after school! I whispered back, you will end up on the same situation, except the gravel will hurt more than this soft matt. I pinned him and won. He never picked on me after that.
Actually, I think he turned out to be a pretty good dude. My little Sister was dying of cancer about 18 years ago. They had a pancake feed fundraiser for her in my small hometown one weekend. So I drove up there and attended. Low and behold Winston was in the kitchen, flipping pancakes! I did make a point of going to shake his hand and say thanks. People can change as we grow up and mature.
