Got in trouble at school

The Pontiac is mine for driving to school and work. The VW is kinda mine my parents are gifting to me. The Honda is my mom's. I do all the work.
My parents really didn't care. My dad said back in his day (1985) that was a minor occurrence.

The kid also didn't care.
I'm not sure how the principal found out. it was just screwing around. I'm usually a pretty good kid.

Remember I go to a school with like 175 kids. We all know each other.

Yeah, that poor principal he's really stuck, with the six figure salary, summers off, and a very comfortable pension waiting for him in retirement.

Meanwhile, this poor kid now has this incident on his disciplinary record.

Bless his heart, Poor thing, He is just misunderdstood........Mean ole Principal, That makes me mad. (Had to get a Droopy Dog quote in there)

I have to say, I did some dumb pranks in HS. Only, i never got caught. In this day of cameras , I would have been nailed. But thats not the point.

There is a time and place to take your punishment. You were not innocent, you may not have been the instigator, but you were part of it.

Next, stop thinking and comparing others to you. The " it's not fair" mentality will keep you miserable all your life.

The attitude of i got less, or he got more ( money, punishment, ice cream, whatever) just marks you as a whiner, especially later in life, stop that thinking now.

You look more mature and responsible when you say, yes I was involved and I should not have been, I accept that I deserve punishment.

I don't want to sound like Pop Rivet here, as I make spelling and punctuation errors from time to time and I'm not perfect either. But I would focus on learning, you should have better sentence structure for a high school senior. Look back at your original post in this thread
and learn what is wrong with it.

At some point after high school, you will need to send emails/ resume's etc. to bosses and co-workers. You don't want to use the sentence structure you do now.

Have fun in HS but realize its a stepping stone to success later in life. I could have gone further , if I had been a better student rather than the " just getting by" student I was then.

Now for my best advice!

Shut up. Do the suspension. Do not screw with the Principal with tshirts or other games. Keep your nose clean and concentrate on graduating and then living an awesome life.

The moment you graduate, you will leave Mr. RESPECT MY AUTHORI TIE behind. You have the potential to kick butt and do awesome things. The principle/warden will be stuck in the same old job and go home to his probably frigid wife.

The best revenge is living well in spite of those who would drag you down.

Yea blame the principal for the idiot behavior. He probably should have gotten a trophy and a pat on the back and you wonder why these kids are F up now days

+1; Being responsible for the safety of hundreds of kids for 1/3 of the day doesn't give the school much flexibility; Imagine a student with a concussion and the parents want to know why the students who caused it horsing around were known to the school and the school did nothing; the punishment is a protection against legal suits as much as a punitive one.

Suck it up buttercup.....Life is NOT fair, You tried to shut the door of the dryer & was going to turn it on?? Maybe you need a trip to county lock-up & charged with assault, But of course..... Your butt-hurt about whatever punishment your principal handed out. It's not wise to pull any more dumb $hit than you already have.

I have a feeling those 3 cars in your signature are NOT yours?

Young man, first I want you to laugh, because you know what....it was fun.

Now, I want you to realize that tomfoolery like that will get somebody hurt.

In the end you should be on your knees thanking your lucky stars that this is the most of your problems right now. My dad is laying in a bed paralyzed from the shoulders down and battling a MRSA infected bed wound.

Get on with your life because it will soon get on with you.

I too remember being a senior in high school and full of [censored] and vinegar.

Kinda glad those days are passed.

Got sent home from school one day with a shiner on my eye. Fightin' was against the rules and it didn't matter why.

Take the punishment, don't make it worse. You'll laugh about this in 10 years and realize what small potatoes it is when thought about in the context of a lifetime. I spent part of a summer cleaning lockers because of a butt crack that may have made it into a Spanish class video my buddies and I shot he last week of our junior year. We were being dumb and got busted. Did the time and now smile about it all. You will too.

+1. I'm not going to be real popular for what I'm about to say, but I don't think what is right is always popular.

It was pretty much equal messing around and I would agree with the ISS up to that point. However, you did yourself in when you said "But I tried to shut the door on him and turn the dryer on." Let's say you got him in, the door shut, and the dryer turned on, what would you have done then? What was your intent in trying to turn the dryer on? Like it or not, it sounds like you tried to take it to another level. He said he could fit in the dryer, but did he request you put him on air fluff?

Here is the other side of it. You got off easy. I could almost bet that administrator had a nice sized mess to clean up after Junior went home and said that he ended up in the dryer and you tried to shut him in and turn it on. I have seen less result in police involvement where the PARENTS of the "Victim" bypass the school and involve law enforcement.

You helped make a mess, and messes don't always clean up neatly. Actions have consequences, you need to learn from it and move on. In the efforts for honest disclosure, BTW, I was a school administrator for 22 years in 3 different school districts and based on what you said here I would probably would have suspended you out of school. Even if I didn't, by the time Central Office became involved, I would have been overruled by the Superintendent and ordered to put you out.

If two days ISS is all you got and there is no further fallout, you got lucky.

No judging here, btw. Good kids do goofy stuff. Part of being a kid. Just make sure you stay on the goofy side and not the criminal. Don't do anything so wrong it plagues you years down the line. A 3 day ISS will suck, I'm sure, but you'll be clear of it on the 4th day.

Have you seen the video of the two idiots goofing around with the "bullet proof vest" which was probably designed for airsoft and then the one idiot decides to wear it to see if it is bullet proof (spoiler: it isn't) and then his buddy actually shoots him? That was the direction you and dryer boy were headed.

Getting in the dryer was dumb. Trying to close it and turn it on was taking it to a whole other level. It is the difference between the two idiots shooting the airsoft vest and one of them actually putting it on and getting shot.

Take your two day ISS, somebody could have been seriously hurt had you got that dryer going. You are lucky it isn't more.

Most likely somebody told somebody and it got back to the principal, plus there are surveillance cams everywhere these days.

I for one don't think you're an a-hole. Moreover, I don't go for all this, be a man, take your lumps advice.

Some idiot wants to climb in the dryer and naturally you want see if the door will close. I probably would have done the same thing.

You're as stupid as the OP....and 8 years older.

If you do the shirt thing, they'll probably make you turn them inside out and give you another slap on the wrist.

Btw, I graduated 8 years ago and don't miss it lol

I thought public employees were overpaid???

I wouldn't have closed the door. If he wants to get in the dryer, go ahead that's his business. Dumb things like this can end up as a manslaughter charge. You know you can't just turn the dryer on and off right? It will cycle for a minute or so before it can actually turn off and unlock the door.

Well asked. lol Last time I looked at my paycheck and then heard what my brother makes managing a retail pharmacy n smokes store... I was underwhelmed at how I was doing. Not that I'm interested in having to go to court to testify about fake slips and falls as he does.

Suck it up and take your punishment. Don't compound your mistake by doing anything else to get your perceived pay back on the Principal.

We have all done stupid things but take this as a lesson to think through your actions and their consequences. We need to become responsible adults
